How to type Rohingya online

  1. Select your script — Hanifi (the majority Rohingya script, written right to left) or Rohingyalish (Rohingya Latin).
  2. Click the on-screen keys. In Hanifi mode the keys are grouped into letters, vowels, marks & tones, and digits; hover any key to see its official Unicode name.
  3. For Rohingyalish, you can also type normally on your physical keyboard and use the on-screen accented row for á, é, í, ó, ú, ñ and ç.
  4. Click Copy to paste your text into WhatsApp, Word or anywhere else, or Download .txt to save it as a file.

This keyboard uses the official Hanifi Rohingya Unicode block (U+10D00–U+10D3F), so the text you type works on any modern device with a compatible font installed.

Frequently asked questions

How do I type Rohingya online without installing anything?

Use this free virtual keyboard: choose Hanifi or Rohingyalish, click the on-screen keys (or type on your physical keyboard for Rohingyalish), then copy or download your text. It works in any modern browser on desktop and mobile.

Why do Hanifi letters show as boxes on other websites?

The device is missing a font that covers the Hanifi Rohingya Unicode block (U+10D00–U+10D3F). This page loads the free Noto Sans Hanifi Rohingya font automatically. To read Hanifi everywhere, install the font on your device — see our fonts page.

How do I type the special Rohingyalish letters like á, ñ and ç?

Switch to the Rohingyalish tab — the bottom row has the accented vowels (á é í ó ú), the nasalisation mark ñ, and ç, which most physical keyboards cannot type directly.

Can I use this keyboard on my phone?

Yes. The keys are touch-friendly and the layout adapts to small screens. For system-wide typing on Android or iPhone, see our keyboard installation guides.
